Women ask us this every week.
She has found Aman, or SHA, or Lanserhof. She has the budget. She would like to spend a week somewhere beautiful being looked after, now, while she still can.
So she writes to ask whether one of them would be better than us.
It is a fair question, and we wanted to answer it properly rather than from memory. In September 2026 we went through eleven of the biggest names in wellness, page by page, looking for one thing: a programme built for a pregnant guest.
Between them they publish more than seventy named programmes.
None of them is prenatal in Europe.
A prenatal massage, a facial and a rejuvenation treatment, for the second and third trimesters. Prices are not published.
19 named retreats and immersions group-wide.
One prenatal programme worldwide, at Vana in India. Nothing in Europe.
Sleep, Detox, Fitness, Yoga and Longevity programmes across the group.
One 60-minute pregnancy massage at €230. No pregnancy programme.
Six named programmes, €1,580 to €4,615 per person.
First trimester only, on request. That is the complete published answer.
Seven signature programmes, four resets, four add-ons.
Women’s Health covers hormones, gynaecology and pelvic floor. It is not prenatal, and SHA does not say it is.
Eight programmes plus seven add-ons.
The fertility retreat is for before conception, not during pregnancy.
Nine programmes plus a Mitochondrial Fertility Retreat.
Nothing published on pregnancy on the pages we checked.
Five Tamina Health programmes.
No mention of pregnancy on any page we checked.
Ten programmes at Tegernsee, four short stays, diagnostics in London.
Nothing published on pregnancy on the pages we checked.
Eight programmes. Revitalisation starts at CHF 31,800.
Nothing published on pregnancy on the pages we checked.
Modern Mayr Medicine, PURE, six modules.
Pregnant guests are advised against, in writing.
Five programmes, all seven nights.
Chenot Palace Weggis says it plainly, and we think that deserves credit.
Its FAQ: “The programme is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding mothers due to its strict low-calorie diet regimen.” All five programmes at Weggis run seven nights and are built around a restricted diet. If you were considering one, that sentence has saved you a phone call.
MAYRLIFE Altaussee publishes one line: “Within the first trimester upon request.”
Clinique La Prairie, Lanserhof and VIVAMAYR publish nothing either way on the pages we checked.
Silence usually means the programme was designed with someone else in mind. It also means that if you book while pregnant, you are buying a room and a spa rather than the programme you read about.
Amanzoe sits on a hill above the Argolic Gulf, and it is a beautiful hotel.
Its prenatal offer is a Prenatal Massage at 60 or 90 minutes, a Prenatal Facial, and an Amanzoe Rejuvenation. Aman restricts all three to “those in their second and third trimesters”. Prices are not published.
There is no programme, no birth preparation and no midwife.
If what you want is an Aman and a treatment you are allowed to have, that is a lovely thing to want, and Amanzoe is the place. It is simply not the same purchase.
A wellness programme at this level is usually built on some combination of fasting, calorie restriction, deep diagnostics and intensive bodywork.
Chenot is the only brand that says out loud how that meets a pregnancy, and its answer is that the diet makes the programme unsuitable.
The rest have not published a view. These places were built for a guest who is optimising, resetting or recovering.
What pregnancy needs instead is people who work with pregnancy and birth for a living.
If you are choosing between a resort and a retreat, five questions will tell you which one you are looking at.
The last one catches people out. A spa hotel with eight hundred reviews has eight hundred reviews of the spa hotel.

The Japanese garden and natural swimming pond at the mom'z estate near Lisbon
We should say plainly that we run one of the three prenatal programmes in Europe, so we are not a neutral party here.
mom’z is five days and four nights at a luxurious masia in the Penedès vineyards near Barcelona, and at a private estate with a saltwater pool half an hour from Lisbon. Ten to fifteen women, monthly, all year. Every guest is pregnant. The program runs in English.
There is a private chef and pregnancy-focussed health nutritionist on the estate and four meals a day. Each morning starts with movement. There is a pelvic floor class, a prenatal massage, and two afternoons on what actually happens in a hospital room. Childbirth educators and certified perinatal experts are on site for the whole retreat and four midwives are on call 24 hours a day on a rotating basis. The airport transfers are included in the price, nothing is sold as an add-on, and twelve months of digital access and community afterwards is included.
From €2,450 per person in a twin shared with one other guest, which is €612 a night. A private en-suite room is €3,650, or €912 a night. Pregnancy weeks 14 to 35.
The two things it is not: there is no beach at either estate, though both have pools, and the days are fixed for you - you don't need to think about or plan for anything for five days. For most women that is the reason they come, and for some it is the reason they do not.
The other two in Europe are The Tenth at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London, at £5,550 for two nights, and Forte Village in Sardinia, from €2,250 for the treatments with the room on top. Neither is a group.
If you have been looking at the great wellness houses and none of them was built for where you are now, this is what we built instead.
Checked on 12 September 2026 against each brand’s own website. Programme counts, prices and quoted wording may have changed since. Where we say a brand publishes nothing about pregnancy, that describes the pages we checked and is not a statement that it excludes pregnant guests. Currency converted at CHF 1 = €1.056, £1 = €1.166, USD 1 = €0.862, mid-market, 12 September 2026. This article is for information and is not a substitute for advice from your own midwife or doctor.
