Yes, you can gift a babymoon.
The simplest way is with a retreat certificate that lets her choose the date and location herself.
You give her the retreat; she decides when and where it fits.
This guide explains who can give one, how to organise it as a baby shower group, when to buy it, what it costs, what to write in the card, and what happens if she cannot go.
Most pregnancy gifts are for the baby. A babymoon is for her.
It gives her something she may already have been thinking about.
A babymoon gift is a trip during pregnancy, paid for by someone else. It can be a holiday for the couple: a hotel, a week away, the two of them. That can be difficult to give as a surprise because someone has to choose the place and dates, and what sounds perfect when you book may feel less appealing at 30 weeks.
A Solo Babymoon retreat works differently. It is a five-day residential pregnancy retreat where every woman arrives on her own and joins a small group at the same stage. The stay includes birth preparation, prenatal movement, rest and a midwife on call. Because it comes as a certificate, she keeps control of the dates. A mom'z gift certificate can cover any amount towards a five-day Solo Babymoon near Barcelona or Lisbon. Partners, parents, friends or a baby shower group can contribute, and she chooses a retreat between weeks 14 and 35 of pregnancy. If she cannot use the certificate, the givers can receive a full refund within 90 days. Our guide to a solo babymoon retreat explains what happens over the five days. The gift page explains how to buy one.
Partners give babymoons most often. They usually pay for the full retreat, often after she has mentioned it. Parents are often next, particularly when the family is expecting a first grandchild. Sisters and close friends tend to contribute part of the cost, then invite other family members to add to it. Colleagues may choose it as a maternity-leave gift instead of flowers. Baby shower groups are the fastest-growing group of givers.
The first concern is often whether the gift will feel as though she is being sent away. The wording makes the difference. Every woman at a mom'z retreat arrives on her own, and the week is designed around that shared experience. Offer it as something that belongs to her: "This is yours," rather than, "You need a break."

For a baby shower group, one person organises the gift, everyone contributes what they want, and she receives one certificate. This is how it works:
If the group does not reach the full retreat price, the amount collected becomes credit in her name. She, her partner or her parents can add the rest later.
Women can join a retreat between weeks 14 and 35 of pregnancy, and retreats run every month. Giving the certificate earlier leaves her with more dates and both locations to choose from.
If you have the choice, the 12-week or 20-week scan gives her more freedom than a later baby shower because there are more months still open to her.
A five-day, four-night mom'z retreat costs from €2,700 for a shared twin room to €4,300 for the deluxe suite, with early-booking rates from €2,450. Everything except flights is included. You can also give any amount as a contribution. A five-night couples' babymoon at a European hotel can cost about the same, without the birth preparation, teaching or the company of fourteen women at the same stage. The rates and dates page has the current retreat prices and schedule.
The card should make the gift feel like hers. Keep the practical part clear, especially that she chooses the place and dates. Use one of these as it is, or change it until it sounds like you:
From a partner. "This is five days for you. Choose the dates and the place that feel right. I will be here when you get back."
From a group. "Most gifts at a baby shower are for the baby. This one is for you: five days with fourteen women at the same stage, with time to prepare, rest and be looked after. Choose when and where. With love from all of us."
From parents. "You have always been the capable one. For these five days, you do not need to organise a thing. Choose the dates that suit you, and it is on us."
A pregnancy gift needs room for plans to change. With a mom'z certificate, the givers can receive a full refund within 90 days if she cannot or does not want to use it. After that, the value remains as her credit for five years, and she can transfer it once to another pregnant woman. If she books and a doctor later advises against travel, travel insurance covers the retreat fee and flights. We recommend taking out a policy; it typically costs a one-off €15 to €50. Other retreats set their own terms, so check the cancellation and transfer rules before paying.
You can contribute towards one. The amount becomes credit in her name and other people can add to it, which is how most sisters and friends give. If a retreat is not right for her, choose another gift that gives her time: a prenatal massage with a therapist trained in pregnancy, a cleaner for the final month and the first month after birth, or a postnatal doula for the first two weeks.
It does not have to feel strange. Close to 1,000 women have taken a mom'z retreat since 2023, and every one arrived on her own. Every retreat so far has also been rated five stars. Guests are usually in their thirties or forties. About half are expecting their first baby; the rest are expecting a second or third. Many are the only pregnant woman in their circle. Afterwards, they often talk most about spending five days with fourteen women at the same stage.
No. You buy the certificate, then she chooses the dates and the estate. You can ask us which retreats fit her due date so that you can show her the options, but nothing is fixed until she decides.
No. Every woman attends on her own. Afterwards, partners receive access to the couples' birth preparation videos, so they can share the preparation at home.
Yes. About half the women at a mom'z retreat are expecting a second or third baby. Because the certificate remains valid for five years, a gift given late in one pregnancy can also be used during the next.
No. Women travel to the retreats from across Europe or even from outside of Europe (e.g. from the United States or the Middle East). Both estates are less than three hours from London, within an hour of an airport, and include airport transfers.
Ask us before you buy. Tell us how you know her and what she is like. We will tell you whether the retreat sounds right for her, including when we think it does not. The gift info pack is the place to start.
