Pregnancy Retreat: What it is and how to choose

A pregnancy retreat is a short pause to rest, move, and prepare before birth. It is sleep, good food, clear guidance, and time together without noise. It is not a checklist or a photoshoot. It is about feeling well and getting ready with calm focus.

👇 Watch the video below for a clear look at what a day on retreat can feel like.

‍

What a pregnancy retreat is in simple words

Think of it as care for the body and care for the mind, delivered in one place.

  • Unhurried mornings and time outdoors
  • Prenatal movement and breath work designed for comfort
  • Food that supports energy and sleep
  • Practical knowledge that builds confidence for birth and early weeks
  • People who make you feel safe and seen

‍

When to go

Many people choose mid pregnancy. Early weeks can be tender. Later weeks can feel heavy and practical limits appear. If you plan any trip, speak to your clinician first, check airline rules if you will fly, and review your insurance. For a quick overview of timing, seat belt placement, and basic precautions, see the NHS guidance on travelling in pregnancy.

‍

What actually happens each day

Mom’z runs a focused 4 night, 5 day program designed for rest, movement, knowledge, and real recovery time. Flights are the only thing not included. Group airport transfers at set times, all meals by the in house chef, one pregnancy massage, snacks, and refreshments are included.

Arrival day (Day 1)
Arrive in the afternoon, check in, meet the group, and settle before dinner. Early night so you start fresh.

Core rhythm (Days 2–4)

  • Late morning prenatal movement and breath work
  • Guided relaxation and visualisations
  • A focused workshop each day on pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early motherhood
  • Creative or social activity for connection and positive memory making
  • One pregnancy massage included during the stay, with additional treatments available on request
  • Chef prepared meals plus snacks and drinks available through the day
  • Free time for sleep, journaling, walks, and private reflection

Departure day (Day 5)
Unhurried breakfast, movement session, last group brunch, check out late morning, and group transfer back to the airport at set times.

Format note
This is a solo babymoon retreat. You come on your own, share the experience with about a dozen other mothers to be, and leave with post retreat support resources and a lifelong community.

‍

How a retreat supports you

  • Rest that compounds. Two simple nights of real sleep change how you feel.
  • Comfort in the body. Targeted movement reduces common aches and can improve sleep.
  • Knowledge that lands. Clear, practical content that reduces guesswork.
  • Connection. Good people, honest conversation, space to be heard.

‍

How to choose the right retreat

  • Location and access to care. Pick places with clear access to health care if needed and keep your notes with you.
  • Training and experience. Look for practitioners who regularly care for pregnant people.
  • Group size and pace. Smaller groups often mean more attention and easier rest.
  • Rooms built for sleep. Quiet, airflow, and supportive mattresses.
  • Food approach. Fresh, simple, and flexible to how you feel.
  • Travel plan. Short travel days help. If you fly, keep moving, drink water, and wear the belt low across the hips. Consider medical grade compression stockings on longer flights when advised. ‍
